چکیده

A simple description of core-collapse supernovae is given. Properties of the neutrino-driven wind, neutrino fluxes and luminosities, reaction rates, and the equilibrium electron fraction in supernova environments are discussed. Neutrino mixing and neutrino interactions that are relevant to core-collapse supernovae are briefly reviewed. The values of electron fraction under several evolution scenarios that may impact r-process nucleosynthesis are calculated.

We study the explosion mechanism of collapse-driven supernovae by numerical simulations with a new nuclear EOS based on unstable nuclei. We report new results of simulations of general relativistic hydrodynamics together with the Boltzmann neutrino-transport in spherical symmetry. We adopt the new data set of relativistic EOS and the conventional set of EOS (Lattimer-Swesty EOS) to examine the ...

Despite of still bothering uncertainties and ongoing controversy, the convectively supported neutrino-heating mechanism (1) must be considered as a promising way to explain supernova explosions of massive stars. Neutrinos drive the evolution of the collapsing stellar core and of the forming neutron star and dominate the event energetically by carrying away about 99% of the gravitational binding...

A principal ‘supernova neutrino challenge’ is the computational difficulty of six-dimensional neutrino radiation hydrodynamics. The variety of resulting approximations has provoked a long history of uncertainty in the core-collapse supernova explosion mechanism, but recent work highlighting low-mode convection and a newlyrecognized instability in spherical accretion shocks may signal (yet anoth...

This manuscript reviews recent progress in our understanding of the nucleosynthesis of medium and heavy elements in supernovae. Recent hydrodynamical models of core-collapse supernovae show that a large amount of proton rich matter is ejected under strong neutrino fluxes. This matter constitutes the site of the ν p-process where antineutrino absorption reactions catalyze the nucleosynthesis of ...
